# Change someone's groups in an app

`PATCH https://studio.gtable.app/v1/apps/{appId}/members/{userId}`

Replaces the whole group list for this user in this app.

Their access is recomputed as the union of the new list; nothing else about them changes, in this app or any other.

Requires the `members:write` scope. Operation `members.update`. MCP tool `members_update`. CLI, once published: `gtable members update`.
