# Put someone in an app

`POST https://studio.gtable.app/v1/apps/{appId}/members`

Gives a user from the directory access to this app, in one or more groups.

Their access is the union of what those groups grant, so adding a group can only add. Pass an email that is not in the directory yet and they are added to it first.

Requires the `members:write` scope. Operation `members.add`. MCP tool `members_add`. CLI, once published: `gtable members add`.
