# List the user groups

`GET https://studio.gtable.app/v1/apps/{appId}/groups`

Every group in this app, how many people are in it, and one sentence per table saying what it may see and do.

Start here: a group is where all of this app's permissions are decided, and no rule crosses from one group to another.

Requires the `schema:read` scope. Operation `groups.list`. MCP tool `groups_list`. CLI, once published: `gtable groups list`.
