# Change what a builder is, or which suites they may work on

`PATCH https://studio.gtable.app/v1/organizations/{organizationId}/builders/{userId}`

Admins only.

An admin can do everything and needs no suite list; a member sees exactly the suites they were given and nothing of the others, or every suite of the organisation when `allSuites` is on. The last admin cannot be demoted, so an organisation can never be left with nobody who can change it.

Requires the `members:write` scope. Operation `builders.update`. MCP tool `builders_update`. CLI, once published: `gtable builders update`.
